Important: The PRO Feature parameters must be added BEFORE &stwURL= and AFTER ?embed=1.
Specific Page Captures
vs.
The Specific Page Capture PRO Feature is used to capture pages deeper than Top Level and SubDomain.
Simply add &inside=1 and then specify the inside page you want after &stwURL=
Full Length Captures
vs.
The Full Length Capture PRO Feature allows you to capture the entire page regardless of length or width.
- Start by removing &Size=
- Add &full=1 (Note: The default scale is 10%)
- Now add &scale= The scale is based on the width of the image
- ex. &scale=10 on a 1024 width will yield 102 px wide thumbnail and as long as the page
Optional: Full Length Crop
- Add &ymax= to specify the max height in pixels based off the precapture resolution.
- ex. &full=1&scale=10&ymax=768 would yield a standard 4:3 thumbnail at 102x77
Custom Sized Captures
vs.
The Custom Sized Capture PRO feature allows you to specify the exact width of the image you want.
- Start by removing &Size=
- Add &xmax= (Note: The default size is 120 px; Accepts between 50 px & 1024 px)
- ex. &xmax=320 would yield a default size of xlg thumbnail at 320x240
We deliver the website screenshot or thumbnail in the exact size requested, so that you can download it and manipulate it, as you wish. Alternatively, you could use "Simple Method" to show the custom sized thumbnail in your web pages.
Please Note: Some similar services offer "instantly delivered custom sizes" and that is NOT the same as what we offer. Their offering only applies to embedded (i.e. "Simple Method") usage and those images are not available for download in the exact size. For use in an application or strict development project, the image must be downloaded in the exact size. That is what we provide.
However, if you are interested in showing an instantly delivered custom size (same as similar services offer), you can do that with our system AT NO ADDITIONAL COST by simply using a free script we provide, called "Thumbfly." This utility is an on-the-fly thumbnailing script that will resize our default sizes (or any image on your site) to whatever size you want.
Refesh On-Demand
vs.
The Refresh On-Demand PRO Feature allows you to "refresh" any screenshot by adding it to the queue for re-capture. Doing so, will queue the request immediately and it will be captured as soon as possible. If you have dedicated generators, then your requests will receive priority for refresh requests also. Otherwise, your request will share the free, basic account generators and be captured whenever one is available.
- Simply add &redo=1 to any request.
Example Usages:
- Useful for keeping a historical archive of the way a page looks and changes over time
- Refresh a page that is out-of-date* or that was recently re-designed
*We refresh basic requests on a regular basis, as a courtesy, but we do not guarantee that they are up-to-date
Please Note: "Refresh" requests are captured in the order they are received*
*To expedite this process, Dedicated Generators may be leased
Custom System Messages
The Custom System Message PRO Feature allows you to upload your own system message thumbnails to replace the default messages seen below.

To do this, once upgraded, click the Upload Custom Thumbnails link located in the PRO Features Upgrade block of your STW Lobby.

From here you can upload each of your Custom System Messages using the familliar upload interface.
Remote Custom System Messages
- &rpath=P
(where P is the full URL path to the remote directory, EX: &rpath=http://mydom.com/path/to/ )
- Upload the following images to your remote directory (where X is the image width):
o adult-X.jpg (questionable content - optional)
o baddom-X.jpg (broken or offline URL)
o banned-X.jpg (user banned - optional)
o invalid-X.jpg (invalid credentials or quota exceeded - optional)
o nothumb-X.jpg (thumbnail queued)
o problem-X.jpg (problem detected)
o rlimit-X.jpg (rate limit reached - optional)
Custom Browser Resolution (Custom Native Resolution)
We capture at an industry high of 1024x768 resolution. However, some sites are optimized for 800x600 and maybe you want a "zoomed in" view. Or, perhaps, you want to capture the top corner of a site. With custom browser resolution, you can do just that. See below for examples:
vs.
*A capture at 800x600 on the left vs. a default capture at 1024x768
vs.
*Top corner captured at 150x113 browser resolution (on the left) vs. a default capture at 1024x768.
This crunches up the site design in some cases but we leave the applications to you! :)
Widescreen Thumbnail Captures
"Widescreen Thumbnail Capture" is actually not a separate PRO feature but is a combination of two (2) PRO features, custom browser resolution & custom sized requests. By using these two features in conjunction, you are able to request a capture at any resolution and any aspect ratio. Therefore, you can captured widescreen thumbnails or even special sized thumbnails. See below for some examples:
* vs.
*This is a photo captured as a widescreen version at 1680x1050 browser resolution compared to a default capture. The widescreen capture gives an exact fit to the widescreen photo (on the right) at 200x125 pixels. Notice how the default capture (on the right) at 200x150 has a white space gap beneath the image (shown by the dotted outline) and keep in mind that it would be much more noticeable if the browser didn't automatically resize the image. Otherwise, the default capture would have chopped off the right side of the car and the difference would be even more apparent.
vs.
*
*This also allows us to support custom aspect ratios like Alexa Thumbnails used to use (i.e. 201x147 and 88x31).
There is a slight height difference here (on the left) vs. the default 200x150 (on the right).

We have considered changing the &ymax parameter to work like the &xmax parameter...
Basically, the &xmax value will determine the "end result" image width.
Currently, however, the &ymax value designates the cut-off as a measure of the original page size. So, that is confusing.
The idea is to make &ymax be the determinate "end result" image height.
Example: &xmax=300&ymax=400 would output a 300x400 image where possible*
*If the page is not long enough to fill out 400 pixels height, it would truncate at the maximum height provided by the original web page.

The above comment suggestion has come to fruition. We have modified all full-length requests to be more intuitive. Now you simply provide the width and length that you want for the output image and that's what you will get back.
